IGOR CETKOVIC – CELLO
Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Internationally acclaimed cellist Igor Cetkovic has served with orchestras across Europe and the US, including the Bergen Philharmonic, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic, and as principal cellist of the Serbian chamber orchestra, the St. George Strings.
A winner of many national and regional performance awards, Igor is now finishing his doctoral studies at Michigan State University, studying under the renowned Suren Bagratuni. He also holds degrees from Stavanger University and Belgrade University. Currently, Igor is Associate Principal cellist with the West Michigan Symphony, Principal cellist with the Saginaw Bay Symphony, and section cellist with the Kalamazoo and Lansing Symphony orchestras. He regularly performs with several other orchestras and chamber groups across Michigan.
Igor is a former cello professor at Albion College, and he currently manages a private cello studio and teaches as Artist Faculty at Dynamics Music School in Lansing.
ZORICA CETKOVIC – PIANO
Zorica Cetkovic, pianist, harpsichordist, and chamber musician, obtained her bachelor and master degrees at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. She was a finalist of the Yugoslav Piano Competition in Zagreb 1972, as well as the International Harpsichord Competition in Paris 1977, where she won the Special Award for the performance of 20th-century music.
During the span of her career, Zorica has given innumerable chamber concerts as harpsichordist, collaborative pianist, and trio member. She has performed in numerous European countries (France, The Czech Republic, Belgium, England, Scotland, Greece, Germany). A prolific collaborator, Zorica has played as piano soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Serbian Radio-Television, and the Yugoslav Army Symphony Orchestra, and as harpsichord soloist with chamber orchestras St. George Strings, String Orchestra Dušan Skovran and Pro Musica.
Currently, as a pianist in the piano quartet “The Covent Garden Piano Consort” she tours across Europe and the Canary Islands and also has taken part in chamber music recitals in Atlanta and Michigan. Zorica Ćetković is full time professor of chamber music and harpsichord and Chair of the Chamber Music Department at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Igor and his mother, Zorica, have played together for more than twenty years.
