RICHARD CHARLES FORD AWARD
Sponsored by the Foundation for Muskegon Community College
A $500 gift will be made in the name of the Award winner
to the Arts and/or Humanities Organization of their choice.

Richard Charles Ford has been an ardent and vociferous supporter of the arts and humanities within our community. In 2001 then MCC President Frank Marczak initiated the annual award as part of the annual Muskegon Area Arts and Humanities Festival in recogniton of Richard's longtime commitment. The first award was made in Richard's name and has continued since. 

This award recognizes INDIVIDUALS who have significantly impacted the arts or humanities community either financially or through in-kind contributions. Individuals in career positions with arts/humanities organizations may not be nominated.

RECOGNIZING OUTSTANDING PROGRAMMING

Organizations in this category are recognized for outstanding programming being innovative and risk-taking. The event brings public awareness to out-of-the-ordinary insights of artistic possibilities.

 GUIDELINES: 
• The activity must have taken place between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010.
• Events/activities should be accessible to the general public in the Greater Muskegon area.
• Nominations may be made by any individual living in the Greater Muskegon area.

With your nomination include a NARRATIVE that describes the activity. How did this activity make an impact in the community? What was the outcome? In what ways did you find the activity innovative and/or risk taking?

In this category businesses/corporations are recognized for supporting arts organizations. Ongoing support enables organizations a long-term financial stability important for planning, growth and creative programming. Additionally it ensures artistic excellence and enriches the quality of life.
